
The following is a detailed guideline that all of our technicians follow for each vehicle. Just simply click one of the links to view in further detail or scroll down.
Damage Assessment
•
Review work order if one has been started by estimator
•
Review all notes, pictures and blue printing
•
Question any unmarked damage, establish if it is current or prior damage
•
Blue print car showing section lines, blends, repair area and primer damage
•
Write an accurate estimate, including photo's, documenting any hidden damage. Re-blue print with any post damage assessment changes
•
Develop repair plan and document on vehicle
•
Manage sublet operations and document on windshield completing schedule before vehicle moves to fill and finish
•
Order any R & I glass
•
Complete any rough pulls to help decide repair or replace
•
Take pictures of all damage
•
Ensure parts cart is with vehicle
•
Take photos that are needed to help in reassembly
Metal Repair
•
Review work order
•
Review blue printing
•
Repair all metal parts with damage
•
Repair any mechanical work on work order including alignment
•
Confirm sublet schedule
•
Fit all doors, deck lid and hood for fit and proper operation if job requires
•
Fit parts to vehicle ensuring only a 1-2mm difference from original form
•
R & I glass if needed via sublet
•
Seam seal all interior surface areas as needed<
•
Ensure all blue printing is still visible on vehicle
•
Reassemble any part for vehicle that can be assembled without interfering with overall repair process
•
Note vehicles needing jamming prior to fitting sheet metal (bolts on radiator supports)
•
Ensure parts cart is with vehicle
Fill and Finish
•
Review work order and blue printing
•
Note any parts off the car needing repair
•
Inspect all metal parts repaired according to work order
•
Ensure parts have been fitted to vehicle within 1 - 2mm of original form
•
Ensure all metal work is repaired and ready to full standards
•
Ensure all seam sealer on internals of vehicles is complete
•
Ensure all blue printing is still visible on vehicle
•
Ensure there are no replacement parts needing clean up prior to paint
•
Inspect all welds are of good quality and holding securely
•
Ensure parts cart is with vehicle
Paint Repair
•
Review work order
•
Inspect for pinholes, runs, sags, or improper making of primed surfacer
•
Ensure repaired surface is straight
•
Ensure any trim interfering with paint process is moved
•
Ensure all seam sealing is complete interior and exterior
•
Ensure all seam sealer on internals of vehicles is complete
•
Inspect for any loose parts
•
Inventory all parts needing paint are prepped and ready for paint
•
Note panels needing rock guard
•
If two-tone is needed, establish proper paint process to ensure no hard lines
•
Ensure parts cart is with vehicle
Re-Assembly
•
Review work order
•
Inspect paint surface to ensure color, no excessive dirt nibs and texture match vehicle
•
Ensure all blends in jams have been fully buffed out
•
Ensure complete paint coverage on all jams and welds and or type of corrosion protection is applied (no bare metal)
•
Ensure hard lines are removed or minimal depending on vehicle
•
Ensure all parts painted off the cart are unmasked and color match is good
•
Ensure parts cart is with vehicle
Detail
•
Review work order
•
Inspect and approve color match
•
Inspect all hardware and proper function of each piece
•
Inspect all vehicle lights interior and exterior
•
Inspect overall fit and finish of vehicle
Parts
•
Review work order
•
As parts arrive mirror match part numbers with work order and physical part to part
•
Review parts orders versus R & R on lower shelf on parts cart. If parts are missing, INVESTIGATE, if needed, write supplement and order missing part
•
Inspect parts for damage, if needed get credit for any repairs or re-order part(s)
•
Invoice parts and update parts status
•
Time permitting reorder a part if it comes in damaged
•
Be sure all parts with clean up are taken to car in time to be prepared and also have clean up written on part
•
Ensure parts cart is with vehicle
Reassembly
•
Re-read work order
•
Check lights and coolant as needed
•
Test all mechanical systems on vehicle as needed
•
Test all door hardware and systems (locks, windows and mirrors)
•
Invoice parts and update parts status
•
Test the fit and operation of all panels, doors, hoods and deck lid
•
Check color match on parts installed on vehicle
•
Check for any warning lights on dash
•
Test drive car as needed
•
Ensure all moldings are secured and fastened properly
•
Ensure parts cart is with vehicle
