I was told a non-OEM windshield would not calibrate. Is that real?

It happens. Some vehicles, including Toyotas with Safety Sense and Subarus with EyeSight, read through a specific part of the glass, and low-quality aftermarket windshields can distort that view enough that the system will not calibrate.
